Experience the coming of the Spring sky on a Moonlight kayak tour
We are offering a Moonlight kayak tour now that Spring has finally sprung in collaboration with superb The Causeway Lass Tour boat.
On Friday 25th May we will lead a kayak trip on the Lower Bann River under the night sky. The Causeway Lass will be on hand to provide warm drinks, craic and TLC to give this evening experience a cosy lining.
The night sky in the months of Spring can be dramatic, especially seen from the perspective of a river like the Lower Bann. Our kayak tour typically starts around dusk and includes the passage through twilight and often a beautiful sunset.
As the sun sets, the moon rises, and catching the large rising moon in winter can be an awesome sight. Recently a customer on one of our night-time kayak tours commented:
“The nature surrounding us – from the sunset in the sky, to the river, the estuary and the night sky – they were the real highlights. It was utterly unforgettable”
The moonlight kayak tour takes place in a stable double sea kayak which you can share with a partner or friend, with enough room to relax and take in the night sky. The journey is approximately 4km in length between Coleraine and the bar-mouth near Castlerock.
The tour has been rated 5 *s on our Trip Advisor and Facebook pages. Our regular Moonlight Kayak tour goes out once every month. You can look forward to a cosy reception on The Causeway Lass, providing support and comfort to our kayaking group on board their vessel. A hot chocolate, blanket and warm welcome is waiting for everyone on the tour where the moon and star gazing can continue.
The Lower Bank provides a sheltered tidal environment perfect for a riverine tour under the night sky. The area contains abundant wild-life, some of which come out after dark and if we are lucky will embellish the experience of the tour.
