Enter the Spirit of Dragon SUP

Half Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) and half Dragon Boat, the Dragon SUP is an exclusive from Red Paddle Co. Designed specifically with racing in mind, this 22 foot long and 34 inch wide board is simply built for speed. Careful on the corners though!

We are proudly re-introducing the Dragon SUP to the Foyle system- which hasn’t seen long-boats like this since 2200BC when the first dug-out canoes where around. In fact we had the highest concentration of dug-out canoes in the whole island at one point in time!

Our Dragon SUP is one of several activities under our SUP In The City series. You can select one of three very different kinds of adventure – all in stand up paddle boarding- including SUP Yoga and Self-hire SUP.

So what are you waiting for? Simply book at board with your ready-made team of 4, or book a place on a pick-and-mix board and see who your companions will be on the day! Depending on other bookings on your selected day, you will either be racing against at least one other group of 4, or against the clock on one of our pre-made, iconic routes.

Part of a large group? We have up to 3 Dragon SUP available at any one time- so a maximum booking of 12 people per 2hour session. Haven’t paddle boarded before? Not to worry! Our qualified and experienced guide will put you through your paces before the racing begins.

I have been making the outdoors both my work and passion for over 10 years now- and every activity brings new people, new places, and new discoveries. What keeps me smiling is discovering the depth of Ireland’s natural heritage- and how people take to it so positively. I have been working with community leaders in Aotearoa/New Zealand for years to understand our own indigenous identity.

Robin Crouch

Director

Robin is a director of the company and experienced outdoor leader. Specialising in environmental education, Robin is a proud home-schooler and spends a lot of time exploring the outdoors on a daily basis with his young family. He loves climbing and canoeing, always including some foraged food en route!

Darren Thompson

Adventure Guide

Born in the city, Darren spent 12 years working in Scotland leading water and land based expeditions. Living in Inishowen since 2018, he is happiest when rock-climbing and kayaking around our beautiful coast-line
