BREATHE is a collaboration between Far and Wild – Indigenous Turas and Offing Coffee based along the banks of the River Foyle.

The event on Thursday 10 April starts at 6pm and ends at 8pm. It consists of a guided Breathwork session and a cup of tea or coffee plus light snack afterwards. Places are limited so we would advise you to book early.

The Breathwork techniques involved are those of Oxygen Advantage ®

Lorcan is an Oxygen Advantage (OA) Advanced Trainer and founding director of Far and Wild Community Interest Company based in Derry City. Oxygen Advantage was developed by Galway native Patrick McKeown and is based on the principles discovered by Buteyko. These are distinctly different from other Breathwork methodologies which focus on increasing oxygenation. The OA approach is gentle and can be practiced by absolutely anyone, therefore is ideal for beginners. It focusses on gentling increasing tolerance of carbon dioxide.

The teaching is centred around a series of step-by-step simple exercises to develop nasal breathing which leads to greater breathing efficiency.

The session will include indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) exercises and be based in Offing Coffee and along the banks for the River Foyle.

Lorcan McBride

Director

I have been making the outdoors both my work and passion for over 10 years now- and every activity brings new people, new places, and new discoveries. What keeps me smiling is discovering the depth of Ireland’s natural heritage- and how people take to it so positively. I have been working with community leaders in Aotearoa/New Zealand for years to understand our own indigenous identity.
