SUP Yoga, a dream on-the-water experience
SUP Yoga is a calming and attuning activity taking place on a stand up paddle board on an inland, sheltered lake near the city of Derry.
The 1hr session of Yoga takes place in a sheltered water environment, and can include an an optional extension of a further 1hr to learn to Stand Up Paddle Board.
SUP Yoga is a novel experience where you learn a set of basic Yoga postures on a Stand Up Paddle Board, secured to a stable yoga platform for increased stability.
Our qualified Yoga instructor provides guidance, safety and instruction throughout your session from this dedicated Yoga dock. Simple yoga poses are taught that work well on your individual SUP Board, which is connected and secured on the central Dock, a bit like petals on the stem of a flower. The Dock, made by Hatha Boards provides a stable platform to connect your Stand Up Paddle Board to, while you practice Yoga, similar to the type shown here.
Your SUP Yoga session will be led by our Yoga instructor who is also an experienced SUP boarder. They can teach you how to safely handle a Stand Up Paddle Board if it is your first time, if you wish to stay on after the Yoga session.
Whether you are a beginner to yoga, or to SUPing, you will have the opportunity to relax safely in the sheltered, natural environment of a river, estuary or lake and to connect with the natural elements in the best of company!
Wetsuit and water shoes provided if needed.
