Swimming in a waterfall is an exhilarating experience! Waterfalls come in all shapes and sizes, and each one has its own unique character. The experience of having a dip, plunge or swim in a waterfall is profoundly memorable. By good fortune, the North West of Ireland has some amazing waterfalls which can be swam in safely. With a little bit of guidance and TLC, waterfall swimming can be a beautiful and enlivening way to spend a morning or afternoon.

Far and Wild provides wrap around care to make your waterfall swim a comfortable and safe experience. We provide a personal guide with experience of the place and the tools to create comfort and a genuine feel-good factor for you throughout the activity.

Waterfall swimming lasts up to 2 hours. This typically includes a short hike to the location, orientation and some simple breathing exercises to settle and prepare you for the immersion. After the experience we have a little treat package to complete the activity. We have both male and female guides and you can request your preference. As most waterfalls are ecologically sensitive places, we recommend group sizes of no more than 6 people visit at any one time. So whether you wish to come solo, or with a friend or small group of people, your experience will be in tune with the place and your needs.

We have a range of incredible locations to choose from, depending on what you are looking for. Some are more remote than others, some bigger, some more intimate. We will tailor your experience according to your requests and needs, and there are many different ways to experience this unique activity.

Our experiences can also be made accessible-friendly- please contact us about your needs and we will be sure to try and provide a wonderful experience for you whatever they are.

I have been making the outdoors both my work and passion for over 10 years now- and every activity brings new people, new places, and new discoveries. What keeps me smiling is discovering the depth of Ireland’s natural heritage- and how people take to it so positively. I have been working with community leaders in Aotearoa/New Zealand for years to understand our own indigenous identity.
